The idea of flying, the spirit of the place, the structures of the historic airfield - the new building of the museum picks up on the mental references and condenses them into an expressive building. The old hangars provided the modular dimensions for the square base plate and the height; cut and folded like a windmill or propeller, a subtle building sculpture is created that expresses its function.
